AIRBUS A310-200 Lufthansa
The Airbus A310 is a twin-engine, wide-body, two-aisle, compact, efficient, short- to medium-range airliner capable of carrying from 220 in a two-class configuration over a range of 9,600 kilometers. It can be powered by either General Electric CF6-80C2 or Pratt & Whitney PW4000 engines. This aircraft is suitable for both commercial and military applications.
Its wide body cabin provides an outstanding comfort to passengers in both all-economy and business classes. EADS is marketing the A310 as one out of two solutions for the Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft.
The first wide-body A310 aircraft entered service in 1983. Since 1994, a dedicated variant through conversion of existing A310 airliners along with the A300F are being offered to airlines as freighters. To date, EADS has delivered a total of 108 converted freighter aircraft to 19 customers worldwide: 48 A310-200s, 34 A300B4s, 14 A310-300s and 12 A300-600s.
