Its latest version, the Leopard 2 A5, is in service with the German component of the Allied Command Europe Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC) since the end of 1995. The most significant modification compared to its predecessors is the wedge-shaped armour on the turret. Sweden, Switzerland and the Netherlands have also decided to introduce or upgrade to the Leopard 2.
