Duitse tank uit de tweede wereld oorlog.
Huge and already irreplaceable losses of vehicles, suffered by Wehrmacht during the first year of war in Russia (1941), forced the German high command to use vehicles that were not quite suitable to solve transportation problems. Use of disarmed light tank Pz I Ausf.B, which can be used as an ambulance, can be taken as an example of such an approach in filling up transport deficiency.
In the beginning of 1942 the remaining easy tanks Panzer I Ausf.A and Ausf.B were removed from service as unsuitable for operations in conditions of Eastern front and were converted to auxiliary machines. The removed turrets were used at fortifications.
The ambulance version of Pz I Ausf.A submitted in a set served in 6 shelf 3 tank division of Wehrmacht.
