The SH-60 Seahawk is the specifically naval versions built for the US Navy, based on the Blackhawk transport and assault helicopter, widely used by the American Army since the late 80s. The Seahawk was modified and strengthened for shipboard use, thus turning it, in fact, into a new aircraft. Provided with Radar and leading-edge Sonar equipment, the SH-60 is a safeguard against the underwater threat, providing anti-submarines protection for aircraft-carriers, thanks to its latest generation armament of torpedoes and depth-charges.
