Battleships of this type were designed on the Baltic plant on the base drawings from the French firm 'Forge and Schantie'. Three battleships of this type 'Emperor Alexander III', 'Borodino' and 'Oryol' were established to built in 1899. 'Borodino' completed its first navigation at August 29-30, 1904 to the Revel. At October 2, 1904 'Borodino' start its campaign to the Far East in the fleet composition of the 2nd Pacific Squadron. It was the last of 4 lost battleships of Pacific Squadron in Tsusima battle in May 14, 1905.
