RICHELIEU 1946
Richelieu was lauched on January 17th 1939, as a result of the situation in France afther the German offensive ,she sailed for Dakar in june ,1940. but fore some political reasons? She fought against British warships there. Then she rejoined the Allied in 1942 and was reffited in Januari 1943 at Brooklyn Navy Yard in the USA. She had here radar and AA armament upgraded. Her 37mm and 13.2mm AA armament was replaced by 40mm Bofors and 20mm Oerlikons. This refit was completed in August. Then she was incorporated into the British Home Fleet. With units of this fleet ,she participated in an operation against the Norwegian coast in January 1944. Afther ordered to join the British Far East Fleet ,she participated in opertions against Japan. Afther WWII , Richeliue returned to French.
