The 250 series of halftracks were based on the Sd.Kfz.10 tractor in much the same way as the 251 series of vehicles were based on the Sd.Kfz.11 vehicle. To compensate for the added weight of the armour, the length of the hull was shortened and a pair of wheels removed. In a similar way to the 251 series again, various variants were produced and numbered, this kit being of the 250/9, a light reconnaissance vehicle with a 2cm gun mounted in a Hangelafette type turret of the type used on the 234/1 eight-wheeled reconnaissance vehicle.
