About the SU-100 Tank Destroyer:
Developed from the Soviet SU-85 tank destroyer, the SU-100 appeared in the final year of WWII. This lethal tank destroyer based on the chassis of the highly successful T-34/85 proved to be among the best of its type in WWII. Its powerful D-10S 100mm gun could penetrate 125mm of vertical armor at distances of up 2000m, sufficient to kill Germany's heaviest tanks. In fact, the same gun was installed on the Soviet T-54 and T-55 post-war tanks. A total of 2335 SU-100 tank destroyers were eventually produced.
