In 1974 the F-15 Eagle went into service as the U.S. Air Force's most modern fighter aircraft. Built by Mc Donnell-Douglas, it will be the basic back-bone of the U.S. air defence into the Nineties. The F-15 E Strike Eagle is in service since 1978. It represents a ground attack version and is equipped with a large number of bombs and rockets. The F-1 5 is also used by Japan, Israel and Saudi Arabia.
