The medium Sherman is undoubtedly one of the most famous tanks of the entire Second World War: tens of thousands were produced for the American army and allied countries. The numerous versions saw action on all fronts and did battle with all the most powerful rival tanks. The A3, with 76 mm cannon, started rolling off the production line in 1943: no other version was produced in such great numbers, largely because of the cannon, which could even put the heavy German tanks, the Tiger and Panther, out of action.
