Unmanned Aerial Vehicle MQ-9 REAPER
The Unmanned Aircraft System MQ-9 Reaper was developed from the smaller MQ-1 Predator as an Airborne Close Support Drone. Missiles, precision bombs or external fuel tanks can be carried on four under-wing pylons. The Reaper has sensors in the optical, infra-red and radar spectra's for reconnaissance and target acquisition. The first Reaper Squadron in the USAF, the 42nd Attack Squadron has been stationed at Creech Air Force Base, Nevada since 2006. The MQ-9 has been deployed in Afghanistan since 2007 and can remain airborne for up to 15 hours.
