SOVIET INFANTRY
After the huge losses in men and materials that the German Army inflicted on the Red Army at the beginning of the German invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941, from mid 1943 numerous reformed Soviet divisions that were only equipped with the essentials, succeeded in halting the enemy advance and forcing back the German Army until in 1945 it capitulated.
