JAGDPANTHER
One of the finest tank destroyers seen in World War 2, the JagdPanther was upon the Panther tank chassis with a mounted 88mm Pak 43/3 L71 gun. It was also protected by 80mm of sloped frontal armour, meaning that when a Jagdpanther was used as planned, with the front of the vehicle pointed at the enemy the JagdPanther was a very effective tank-killer.
The JagdPanther was first deployed on 31st July 1944, when 3 JagdPanthers of the 654th surprised the S Squadron of the 3rd Battalion Churchill tanks of the Scots Guards. The Jagdpanthers were so effective that within 5 minutes, 11 of the Churchills had been destroyed.
