M4A3E2 SHERMAN "JUMBO"
"1940 - 1945".
The "Jumbo" version of the famous medium tank Sherman, was characterized by an enhanced protection in order to better combat the German tanks.
The 38 mm plates mounted on the front of hull and the turret with an armor of 152 mm made it much more effective and secure but, making it heavier, reduced also the speed of 5 km/h. The first units, entered into service in August of '44, were armed with 75mm main gun. Only later the most effective 76 mm main gun was adopted.
