Finnish Army T-55 with KMT-5
In the early 1960’s, the KMT-5 system was introduced. This uses a lighter-weight mine trawl in conjunction with the KMT-5mine rakes. The chain stretched between the two roller sections has a “dog-bone” attached in the center which is intended to detonate any tilt-mines which might otherwise slip through the center of the trawl and detonate under the tank’s belly.
